SITA Cornwall Trust

The SITA Cornwall Trust was launched in 2008. This is a new organisation that distributes Landfill Communities funding in the county.

Funding is available for community improvement projects such as repairs to a village hall or church.

Although it carries the SITA name, SITA Cornwall Trust is an independent organisation. It is named SITA Cornwall Trust because all its funding comes from the landfill sites owned by SITA UK. However, the Trust has its own Board of trustees.

What is the Landfill Communities Fund?

The Landfill Communities Fund is a source of funding generated by a tax on waste that’s sent to landfill sites. A proportion of the tax paid on each tonne of waste buried at one of SITA UK’s landfill sites can be redirected through the landfill communities fund and distributed by SITA Cornwall Trust.
