SITA begins improvements at St. Austell recycling centre

Construction work to improve SITA Cornwall’s household waste recycling centre in St Austell started this month.

The improvements to the Menear Road facility are expected to take around seven months to complete.

Phil Rudin, Operations Manager for SITA Cornwall said, “The improvements will transform the site into a modern, user-friendly facility with better opportunities for recycling, greater accessibility and improved traffic flow.”

Phil added: “We are redeveloping the site in two stages to enable part of the facility to be kept open for public use. However, there may be disruption to the service whilst the work is being carried out and we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused.”

To avoid delays, members of the public are advised to use alternative recycling centres at Wheal Prosper, Lanivet PL30 5HB and Connon Bridge, East Taphouse PL14 4NP.

People are asked to contact the SITA Cornwall helpdesk if they require any further information on 08456 300300 or at cornwallhelpdesk@sita.co.uk
